Whoop 5.0 & MG: Longer Battery, Sleeker Design

**Boston, MA –** Whoop, Inc. announced the launch of its latest fitness trackers, the Whoop 5.0 and the Whoop MG (medical grade), boasting significant upgrades over its predecessor. The new devices feature a more compact design, 7% smaller than the Whoop 4.0, and a 60% faster processor. A key improvement is the extended battery life, offering 14 days of continuous use—approximately triple the four-to-five-day lifespan of the Whoop 4.0.
Both the Whoop 5.0 and Whoop MG offer enhanced features designed to appeal to a broader user base beyond athletes. Improvements include advanced sleep tracking, a comprehensive suite of women's health features encompassing menstrual cycle tracking and pregnancy support, and the ability to measure Vo2 max and estimate physiological age (Whoop Age). The devices also continuously track key metrics such as sleep, strain, recovery, heart rate, respiratory rate, steps, and stress. The data collected is used to provide personalized coaching and recommendations to help users improve their performance and health.
The Whoop MG model distinguishes itself with additional medical-grade features. This includes heart health monitoring capabilities, such as the ability to record electrocardiograms (ECGs) to detect irregular heart rhythms like atrial fibrillation (AFib) and provide daily blood pressure insights (currently in beta). The ECG feature, cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, is not intended for users under 22 or those with implanted cardiac devices, and availability is currently limited to the U.S., UAE, and Qatar. Blood pressure insights require a baseline reading using a traditional cuff. Both features offer users the ability to share data with their healthcare providers.
Whoop offers three membership tiers: Whoop One ($199), Whoop Peak ($239), and Whoop Life ($359). The Whoop One membership includes the Whoop 5.0 and provides access to core metrics. Whoop Peak adds a health monitor and real-time stress monitoring with guided breathing sessions. The Whoop Life membership includes the Whoop MG and unlocks the medical-grade features. Additional accessories are sold separately. All devices are available for purchase online. The company emphasizes that these features are intended for wellness purposes and not for diagnosis or treatment of medical conditions; users should consult their healthcare providers for any health concerns.
