Samsung Halts One UI 7 Rollout: Serious Bug Found
## Samsung Halts One UI 7 Rollout Due to Serious Unlocking Bug

Samsung has temporarily halted the rollout of its highly anticipated One UI 7 update after reports of a critical bug affecting unlocking functionality on several Galaxy devices. The update, based on Android 15 and featuring new features like the Now Bar and UI improvements, initially launched on April 7th for select models, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. The US rollout began on April 10th, following the release with the Galaxy S25 series in February. A planned broader rollout to devices like the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S24 FE, and Galaxy Tab S9 and S10 series, initially scheduled for April 7th, is now on hold.

The problem, first reported by leakers Ice Universe and Tarun Vats, centers on a bug preventing some South Korean users of the Galaxy S24 series from unlocking their phones. While the initial reports focused on South Korea, Samsung has proactively paused the global rollout for all affected models as a precaution. This decision comes after the update's already delayed arrival – seven months after Android 15's developer release and two months after the S25 series launch.

The update's unavailability is confirmed by the absence of the One UI 7 firmware on Samsung's servers, replaced by older patches. While some users may have already downloaded the update, Samsung has yet to officially acknowledge the issue or announce a timetable for a fix or resumed rollout. The company has not commented on the situation. This delay is particularly concerning given the expected release of Android 16 in the coming months. The pause affects the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 models specifically. While the extent of the bug's impact remains unclear, Samsung is expected to address the problem swiftly to ensure the smooth functioning of the update and the timely release to the remaining devices on the rollout schedule. The longer-term implications of the delay on the release of One UI 7 to other Samsung devices, including older flagships and A-series phones, are yet to be determined.
