Mediaite Launches YouTube Channels; Abrams Expands Digital News
## Mediaite Expands into YouTube with New Creator Network Featuring Former CNN Talent

Mediaite, the online news and commentary site, is launching a new YouTube network featuring prominent former CNN personalities, marking a significant expansion into digital video content. The initiative, spearheaded by Mediaite founder Dan Abrams, aims to bypass traditional media gatekeepers and deliver news and commentary directly to YouTube audiences.

The network will include three new channels: "Sanity," a video podcast hosted by former CNN anchors Alisyn Camerota and Dave Briggs; and "News Not Noise," from former CNN White House correspondent Jessica Yellin. "Sanity" will focus on addressing current events with curiosity and an open mind, avoiding a finger-wagging approach. Yellin's "News Not Noise" will continue its explainer-style journalism, leveraging Mediaite's support to broaden its reach. Yellin already boasts over 1.3 million followers on social media.

Abrams stated that the initiative draws on the success of his Law&Crime YouTube channel, which has amassed over 7 million subscribers and billions of views. He emphasized that success on YouTube doesn't require political extremism, highlighting the appeal of independent, engaging voices offering insightful analysis. While the financial arrangements between Mediaite and the creators remain undisclosed, the partnership includes strategic, promotional, and editorial support to help build the channels' audiences.

This move positions Mediaite at the forefront of a growing trend of former network news personalities transitioning to the creator economy. The initiative reflects a shift towards direct-to-consumer content delivery, bypassing traditional network structures and leveraging the reach of YouTube. The success of this venture will depend heavily on audience engagement and the ability of these established journalists to attract and retain viewers in a highly competitive online environment.
