iPhone 17 Air Leaks: Slim Design, Pro Redesign Unveiled
## iPhone 17 Air Leaks: Slim Design and Pro Redesign Shake Up Apple's Fall Lineup

Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 lineup is generating significant buzz, with leaks pointing to a radical redesign and a new model. Replacing the Plus model, the iPhone 17 Air is poised to be the thinnest iPhone ever, boasting a remarkably slim 5.44mm profile, according to leaked images from Majin Bu on X (formerly Twitter). This thickness surpasses even Apple's M4 iPad Pro (5.1mm) but falls short of the Tecno Spark Slim (5.75mm) and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (5.84mm).

While the dummy unit images show a matte finish and single rear camera module, the design largely mirrors the iPhone 16, featuring volume rockers, an Action Button on the left, and a Camera Control on the right. The Air model will reportedly compromise on features, including the absence of telephoto and ultrawide cameras, in pursuit of its ultra-thin profile.

In contrast, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to undergo a significant design overhaul, featuring a long, thick camera bar across the top. Leaked CAD renders from Majin Bu depict a case design with a brace separating the left and right sides of this camera bar, a striking departure from previous iPhone iterations. This design stands in stark contrast to the rumored single-camera setup of the iPhone 17 Air. The base iPhone 17 model, however, may retain a camera bump similar to the iPhone 16.

Further leaks suggest the iPhone 17 Air will sport a 6.6-inch ProMotion OLED display with ultra-slim bezels, potentially featuring an anti-reflective Ceramic Shield display (though this remains unconfirmed). While initially considered for a 16 Pro Max-sized screen, Apple reportedly abandoned this due to bending concerns associated with the thin design. The Air model will likely house an A18 or A19 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and Apple’s new C1 modem. The front camera is expected to receive an upgrade to 24MP.

Bloomberg reports suggest a price point of around $900, placing the iPhone 17 Air between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro in the price hierarchy. The anticipated launch is slated for September, alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 series, offering consumers a choice between a slim, streamlined experience and the more feature-rich Pro models. Furthermore, Apple is expected to unveil iOS 19, featuring a significant design overhaul with improved customization options and user navigation, inspired by the Vision Pro's operating system. These changes represent a significant update to Apple’s mobile operating system.
