Teddi Mellencamp's Stage 4 Cancer: Dad Plans Burial

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp is facing a new challenge in her battle against stage 4 melanoma. The 43-year-old podcast host and wellness coach revealed the progression of her cancer, which has metastasized to her brain and lungs, in a recent social media post and subsequent interviews.
Mellencamp initially announced brain tumors in February after experiencing severe headaches. Emergency surgery removed four large tumors, but subsequent scans revealed additional tumors in her brain and lungs, all resulting from the melanoma she was diagnosed with in 2022. She has undergone radiation and immunotherapy treatments. While expressing both strength and sadness in navigating her diagnosis, Mellencamp shared her determination to fight for her life and her family.
Her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, has been a significant source of support, putting their divorce proceedings on hold to assist with their three children, Slate, Cruz, and Dove. Mellencamp described a renewed closeness with Arroyave, emphasizing their collaborative efforts in caring for their family amid her health crisis.
The support extends to her family, with her father, John Mellencamp, actively involved in her care. The singer has even begun making burial arrangements, engaging in conversations with Teddi regarding her final resting place in the family mausoleum in Indiana.
Mellencamp has also received support from some of her former Real Housewives castmates, including Kyle Richards, who helped expedite her admission to Cedars-Sinai hospital, and Vicki Gunvalson. However, she noted that Garcelle Beauvais has not yet reached out, while Dorit Kemsley’s recent attempt at contact remains somewhat tentative.
Despite the gravity of her situation, Mellencamp maintains a positive outlook, employing humor as a coping mechanism and focusing on creating happy memories with her children. She acknowledges the emotional toll of her treatment, but remains committed to her fight against cancer, continuing to prioritize her family and cherished activities, like horseback riding with her daughter.
