## Jiggly Caliente Undergoes Leg Amputation, Faces Extensive Recovery

**Los Angeles, CA** – RuPaul’s Drag Race season four contestant and Drag Race Philippines judge Jiggly Caliente (Bianca Castro) underwent a leg amputation following a severe infection, her family announced on April 24th. The statement, shared on social media, revealed that Caliente experienced a serious health setback requiring hospitalization and ultimately resulting in the loss of "most of her right leg."

The family emphasized that Caliente’s recovery will be extensive, requiring her to withdraw from all public engagements and the upcoming season of Drag Race Philippines. They requested privacy for Caliente and her family during this difficult time, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans and the drag community. The statement encouraged fans to send messages of hope and love through her social media channels.

Fellow RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni have publicly expressed their support. Bob the Drag Queen shared messages of love and support, praising Caliente's resilience. Ginger Minj also conveyed her love and well wishes, emphasizing her thoughts and prayers. Michelle Visage, Nina Bo'nina Brown, Manila Luzon, and Peppermint added their support on social media.

Caliente, 44, gained recognition through her participation in RuPaul’s Drag Race season four and later All Stars six. Her work as a judge on Drag Race Philippines, starting in 2022, further solidified her position within the Drag Race franchise. Before her health setback, she expressed ambitions to pursue acting, having secured a role in FX's *Pose* and expressing a desire to work in Hollywood, including aspirations for a Marvel movie. This latest health challenge will undoubtedly impact her career trajectory in the near future, as her recovery period is expected to be lengthy. The family has not yet provided an estimated recovery timeline.
